UIC students benefit from internship programs with local businesses, nonprofits, community and government organizations. Our students also have access to some of the world’s finest cultural organizations. From master acting classes with Steppenwolf for theatre students, research seminars at the Newberry Library for students of the humanities and a joint program with Anthropology and the Field Museum to clinical rotations at the area’s hospitals and clinics for the health sciences and so much more!

Transportation
- U-Pass – full-time UIC students will have unlimited access to the Chicago Transit Authority as part of their tuition and fees.
- Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) – L trains, subway trains and buses
- Metra commuter trains to Chicago’s suburbs.

Safety in Chicago
Chicago is a big city, which means residents can find many wonderful resources and opportunities on campus or nearby. But like in any metropolitan area, we urge students and guests to be aware of their surroundings and review our common sense tips.
